Again, To Texas Boxers:
I will also be in Texas next month and was wondering if anyone could give me
stati on boxes in Austin and Harker Heights (or anything spectacular within
an hour of Austin), for example, which boxes are still to be found, and if
any of them have been notably difficult, confusing, etc. Part of the risk of
letterboxing is not finding a box and sometimes it's fun to be lost, but I'm
worried about being in an entirely foreign state, alone with no bearings AND
lost in the wilderness. If anyone could give me some advice, it would be
incredibly well appreciated. Thank you!

I will be searching for a couple of the Austin and Harker Heights
boxes in the next few days and weeks. So I'll report back if I find
anything. The two locations I'm going to search for in Austin
(Barton Greenbelt and Mt. Bonnel) were placed a while back, so I'm
hoping they are still there. The Harker Heights boxes appear to have
been placed more recently so I expect that they are still there.
I'm new to letterboxing (I carved my signature stamp last night) and
I'm very excited about this hobby/sport/art. I already have an idea
for a series of letterboxes that I hope to plant in the next few
months.

I just returned from the Austin area and found the two Greenbelt
boxes and the Mt. Bonnell box alive and well. The Greenbelt
trailhead is hard to find unless you are familiar with Austin. I
found it by going south on Loop 360 about .5 miles from SR 1 (MOPAC
Expressway). The Texas Mystery Box was not where it should have been
so I assume it is lost.
As I said in another message, I just placed the U.S.A. Flag box in
Austin and the Spanish Flag box in San Antonio. To see all my
letterboxes you can go to my website at:

Silver Eagle,
We were a couple days behind you in finding the 2 Barton Creek Green
Belt boxes. They were our first and second letterboxes!!!! It was a
beautiful sunny day in the 60's and there was actually water running
in the creek. A nice change from summertime drought season!
I'm thrilled that you have placed a new box in Zilker Park. On our
next foray out we are going to do the Mt. Bonnel box and now your
Zilker Park box. I look forward to collecting all your 6 Flags of
Texas stamps. Thanks for the adventure!!!
